Soundproofing fences can be done! At first we were skeptical about how effective soundproofing a fence can possibly be, but we are now convinced that it is possible using our Mass Loaded Vinyl Sound Barrier. Be sure to line the entire surface of your fence with the MLV, and either overlap or caulk all the seams, making a tight seal. The MLV is an excellent noise barrier for between walls, ceilings, floors, and even for fences!

We proved this by applying the MLV to a small fence located on top of a nearby building, in order to block the noise of 3 loud HVAC units that were facing the street. Residents below were calling daily to complain about the noise and it was imperative that something be done to reduce it, otherwise our client was looking at a lawsuit for disturbing the peace.

Extreme Soundproofing came in and applyed the MLV to the fence in front of the HVAC equipment, and in no time at all solved the problem. Our customer received no more complaints from the neighbors, and recently engaged us for another project!

We were pleased that we were able to solve their noise problem and recommend the MLV to others as a viable solution for soundproofing fences and reducing noise from neighbors, HVAC equipment, etc. There are too many noise sources to list.
